We are sincerely sorry for your loss.
In 2022, my brother-in-law passed away out of the blue. He deserved a lovely tribute on his final passage, we wanted ‘Brother’ as tribute letters to accompany his coffin. Other family members also wanted ‘Grandad’, ‘Dad’, a flower heart, a flower photo frame, and a spray for the top of his coffin.
Our ‘Brother’ tribute alone cost £46 for each individual letter, totalling £322. (Some florists are now charging a lot more due to the increase of gas and electricity to grow chrysanthemums.) It looked beautiful but a week later, sadly and shockingly, the withered flowers were in landfill because the green florists’ foam used to hold them is not recyclable.
We would have loved to have had the option to hire the tribute.
Not only would it have been a lot cheaper but it would have helped us “do our bit” for the environment because hired tributes are refreshed and reused. Respect for our planet means that reusing materials to reduce waste is something we strive to do whenever possible.
After my brother-in-law’s funeral we felt strongly that we did not want other people to be in the same position we had been in, having to decide whether or not to give him the send off he deserved. We then decided to start this family-run business to help others in the same situation.
